303S Modern Machine Quilting 4 Ways
405S Modern Improv Hexagons
Slow stitch, organic quilting, improv quilting; it doesn’t matter what you call it, this is one of the most satisfying and relaxing quilting techniques. No stress, just you, the needle, the thread and the beautiful texture. Beginners welcome. Students will prepare a quilt sandwich at home, so they are ready to get to the fun stuff in the class. The finished size of the quilt will be approximately 100cm x 115cm, suitable for a crib or baby play blanket or to decorate your home. Though this quilt is an easily managed project, it is not a race and you may not finish all the quilting in the class. Students will also be shown how to finish the whole cloth with a hand-stitched binding to the front, a sample to practice this technique will be supplied. NOTE: Students must prepare a pin basted whole cloth quilt sandwich at home as there will not be class time available for sandwiching. Assuming standard 115cm Width of Fabric (or there-about), make a quilt sandwich using 1 meter for top fabric (solid or printed fabric - something you love), 1 meter for backing (plain calico), and batting suitable for hand quilting.
