Details

In this class, students will learn to have a better understanding of their machine’s built-in decorative stitches and how to use different types of thread to create patterns.  They will do free motion quilting.  They will learn how to create three different types of 3-D flowers.  They will learn how to couch stems and leaves successfully and sew beads in flowers to keep them in place.

Student Requirements:

The compulsory kit contains black 100% cotton fabric; batting; felt; 2 x Isacord threads; 2 x all-purpose threads; yarn; beads

• Basic Sewing Supplies
• Marking pens: white/silver pencil
• Quilting gloves – nitrile coated preferably to rubber coated
• Topstitch/Cordonette needles
• Cutting mat and rotary cutter with a new blade
• Quilt ruler
• Small sharp scissors – curved if possible
• Machine Feet (included with BERNINA/bernette b05 machines):
  o Open toe free-motion presser foot or free-motion embroidery presser foot or darning presser foot
  o Presser foot to use with built-in decorative stitches
  o Couching presser foot (with inserts)
  o Walking foot
  o Zig-zag presser foot
• Extension cord, 15 amp plug or adaptor, surge protector plug

NOTE: BERNINA and bernette b05 sewing machines with accessories will be provided (no machine rental will apply).
