Learn everything you need to know about making miniatures using foundation paper piecing. Students will make some blocks and learn how to insert a perfect quarter-inch border. Quilting, binding options and other miniature related topics will be discussed.

Student Requirements:
- Basic Sewing Supplies
- Fabric: The four fabrics that you choose need to be 100% cotton and mini print or plain. There should be 2 lights and 2 darks so that there is enough contrast in your design to make the design pop!
o From each of the 4 mini-print or plain fabrics, please cut:
- Twenty-three 2 inch squares
- Eight 2½ inch squares
- Fifteen 1½ inch squares
o Choose which fabric you would like to have as the centre of each block and cut thirty 1 inch squares from this fabric - Sue chose red.
o Choose two of the fabrics and from one of them cut two strips 2 inches by 6 inches.
o From the other fabric, cut a strip of fabric three-quarters of an inch by 6 inches.
- Machine quilting thread in a neutral colour
- 2 bobbins pre-wound with the same thread
- Cutting mat and rotary cutter with a new blade
- A six-inch quilt ruler
- A wooden iron or a wooden clothes peg
- Sewing Machine in good working order;
o Quarter-inchch presser foot and
o Open toe appliqué presser foot
- Extension cord, 15 amp plug or adaptor, surge protector plug
NOTE: Precutting must be done before class, as there will not be class time available for cutting.
