Let’s use those decorative stitches!!  With this project, you will learn colour shading and contrasting using floral fabrics.  Let Wilna take you on a whimsical journey with more than eight different three-dimensional appliqué techniques.  Choose between the Hot Air Balloon Row and the Village Row.  Each panel measures 20” x 60”.

Student Requirements:

• Basic Sewing Supplies
• Hot Air Balloon Row fabric:
  o Nine background colours for the sun rays:
  - No 1: 35cm x 110cm
  - No 2: 35cm x 110cm
  - No 3: 25cm x 110cm
  - No 4: 20cm x 110cm
  - No 5: 10cm x 110cm
  - No 6: 10cm x 110cm
  - No 7: 10cm x 110cm
  - No 8: 10cm x 110cm
  - No 9: 5cm x 110cm
  o Thirty colours 15cm x 110cm each of assorted floral prints for the hills.
  o Four shades of orange 15cm x 15cm for the sun.
  o Twenty colours 25cm x 25cm each for top of the balloons.
  o Six basket prints 10cm x10cm each.
  o Five browns for basket frames and insides 10cm x 10cm each.
• Village Row fabric:
  o Eight background colours for the sunrays:
  o No 10: 25cm x 110cm
  o No 1: 25cm x 110cm
  o No 2: 25cm x 110cm
  o No 3: 20cm x 110cm
  o No 4: 15cm x 110cm
  o No 5: 15cm x 110cm
  o No 6: 10cm x 110cm
  o No 7: 10cm x 110cm
  o Thirty colours 15cm x 110cm each of assorted floral prints for the hills.
  o Five brick fabrics for the walls 30cm x 30cm each.
  o Ten shades of each colour green, blue, red, purple and pink 15cm x 15cm of each. (This is a good place to use all your scraps and left over fabrics from previous projects.)
• 1m x 1m lining fabric (any light 100% cotton fabric, it won’t be seen)
• 100% cotton machine threads to match fabrics
• Variegated machine thread
• 1m x 1m appliqué paper
• 1m x 1m Tear Away
• 50cm x 1m Loomtex/thin batting
• Light/white teflon appliqué sheet
• Fray check / Stop Fray
• Removable fabric marker
• Pencil
• Masking tape
• Fine permanent marker
• Fabric and paper scissors
• Quilt ruler
• Cutting mat and rotary cutter with new blade
• Sewing Machine in good working order;
  o Appliqué presser foot and
  o Quarter-inchch stitch presser foot
• Extension cord, 15 amp plug or adaptor, surge protector plug
