Details

Students will work on domestic and midarm (sitdown) quilting machines fitted onto table-top and hoop quilt frames as well as standard quilt frames.  Students will have fun learning how to use ‘new’ glue to hold the fabric in place for thread sketching.  They will learn how to draw, using the machine as a drawing tool.  Once their hibiscus flowers are ‘sketched’ on the background, they will quilt very casual feathers all over the background.

Student Requirements:

The compulsory kit contains fat quarter flower fabric (prepared with glue); 100% cotton background fabric; batting; backing; 1 x Isacord machine embroidery thread and pattern

• Basic Sewing Supplies
• Small sharp scissors – curved if possible
• Marking pens: Purple air erasable pen or blue water-soluble pen or white/silver pencil
• Quilting gloves – nitrile coated preferably to rubber coated
• Cutting mat and rotary cutter with a new blade

NOTE: BERNINA midarm (sitdown)/longarm machines are provided (no machine rental will apply)
