This class is all about fabric manipulation.  Create your own unique village.  You will create a background by means of textile art e.g. burning fabric with a heat gun and manipulating them to form the background you want.  Use your beautiful scrappy fabrics to build your village.  Learn how to use sheer fabrics to enhance your houses.  No appliqué paper needed.  A soldering iron will be used to enhance the houses and to create texture. You will be shown how to use Angelina fibres.  Why wait?  You need a fun and easy class!  Art made easy!

Student Requirements:

The compulsory kit contains an A3 piece of organza; selection of burnt fabrics/manipulated fabrics for the background; sheer fabrics for the windows.

• Basic Sewing Supplies
• 1 x A3 piece of felt / 2 x A4 pieces that can be joined
• Scrappy pieces of quilt fabrics - bold designs and bright colours - the more the better
• A3 piece of batting - stiff batting is better
• A3 piece of backing fabric
• Various machine embroidery threads or ordinary sewing thread
• Small sharp embroidery scissors and fabric scissors
• Invisible thread
• Soldering iron
• Teflon sheet (optional but advisable)
• Angelina fibres (optional)
• Glue pen
• Interesting threads and cords
• Cutting mat and rotary cutter with new blade
• Sewing Machine in good working order;
  o free style/darning presser foot
• Extension cord, 15 amp plug or adaptor, surge protector plug
