Become entangled with all the small pieces of fabric you never seem to work away.  Create funky houses and receive a degree in Architecture from the School of Fusing at the same time!  Combine fun with the technique of machine appliqué and collage building.  Play with the different shapes and lines provided and become a master architect, builder and painter in a single day!  This class is for everyone who would like some fun.  No skills are required.  Become an innovative quilter without even noticing it.  The result is a whimsical neighbourhood of houses.  By making skewed house blocks, you will be taught how to apply a binding to a non 90° corner.  You will never buy a house pattern again.  Once you have started building, you won’t be able to stop!  Let’s go paint the town red.

Student Requirements:

• Basic Sewing Supplies
• 9-inch x 9-inch background fabric
• Various pieces of brightly coloured fabric for houses
• Yellow/orange fabric for windows
• Black thread
• Various machine embroidery threads for houses
• 0.3m Appliqué paper
• 9-inch x 9-inch piece of Stitch and Tear
• Fabric and paper scissors
• Black Artline 725 Superfine permanent marker
• Small buttons or beads for doorknobs
• Teflon sheet (optional but advisable)
• Cutting mat and rotary cutter with a new blade
• Sewing Machine in good working order with blanket stitch/satin stitch function;
  o embroidery stitch presser foot
• Extension cord, 15 amp plug or adaptor, surge protector plug

NOTE: The class manual will be in Afrikaans and English.
