Come, be creative and build your own variety of different log cabin blocks with folded strips of material. The strips are stitched on a material foundation around the centrepiece. The emphasis in the choice of material is different textures and interesting colour combinations. This method uses quite a lot of material, so find an old colourful scarf, curtains, old blouses, pants etc. and create your colour scheme - light, medium, dark with a bright zinger. The aim is to finish 4 blocks of 20cm x 20cm each in the class, but you can make more for a wall hanging, table runner or even a bag. The blocks are joined in the Quilt-As-You-Go method, which will be demonstrated in the class. No quilting will be necessary as there will be more than 3 layers already.
Note: Pre-cutting instructions will be provided after registration. Pre-cutting and pressing must be done before class, as there will not be class time available for cutting.
