Students will work on domestic and mid-arm quilting machines fitted onto table-top and hoop quilt frames as well as standard quilt frames. The students will learn how to create new fabric on the machine. Students will transfer the image onto the new fabric and quilt Zentangles (or their own choice of small designs) onto it. Students will learn how to use circular rulers to create an interesting background. They will fill each circle with their choice of interesting quilting designs. Students will sew pebbles around the outer edge of circles. The pebbles will be burnt out using a soldering iron. The backing, batting and background fabric will be put on the frame. Students can choose if they want to do free motion quilting or ruler work on the background fabric. The newly created and burnt fabric will be placed on top of that and stitched through to form a beautiful unique wall hanging.
A kit is required and includes: felt; organza; Angelina fibres; background fabric; batting; backing fabric; 3 x Isacord threads; 1 x 100% cotton thread; pattern and Avalon
NOTE: BERNINA midarm (sitdown)/longarm machines are provided (no machine rental will apply)
