With just two shapes and using a good contrast of light and dark fabrics, you will get the most amazing optical illusion.  You will cut your fabric and then foundation piece for accuracy.  Marline will also give you hints, tips and ideas for the best way to iron your seams to create a wonderfully successful quilt top with a good visual impact.  This is a wonderful quilt to make and will give you much satisfaction in making it up.  Marline used scraps for her quilt.  You can stick to a colourway or use various colours as long as there is a good contrast between the colours.

Student Requirements:

• Basic Sewing Supplies
• Fabric for the top: 5 fat quarters dark fabric and 5 fat quarters light fabric
• Matching thread
• Quick unpick
• Scissors
• Cutting mat and rotary cutter with a new blade
• Quilt ruler
• Sewing Machine in good working order;
  o Regular straight stitch presser foot
• Extension cord, 15 amp plug or adaptor, surge protector plug
