Modern Precision Piecing

This is a fun class learning accurate machine piecing, creating modern, big images of South African Flora.  Choose between six different flowers.  You will supply your own fabric to guarantee original work from each student.  Bettie will provide a pattern and will teach you piecing methods which will improve your regular piecing and make difficult angles easy to stitch together.

Student Requirements:

The compulsory kit contains the pattern

• Basic Sewing Supplies
• Fabric: Fat quarters and 0.5m of suitable colours (solids and colour wash)
• 1m x 1m iron-on Vilene (cheapest/paper-like)
• Matching thread
• Stainless steel and Bobblehead Pins
• Cutting mat and rotary cutter with new blade
• Coloured Pencils/Koki’s
• B4 Pencil and Eraser
• Sharp Scissors- Big and Small
• Sewing machine in good working order;
       • regular straight stitch presser foot
• Extension cord, 15 amp plug or adaptor, surge protector plug
• Design Board - 1m x 1m Cardboard/Polystyrene
