Welcome to the quilting circle of friends in the Western Cape. The Good Hope Quilters Guild would love to welcome you, whether you are living here, moving here, or just passing through as a tourist.
If you are a teacher from another country or region in South Africa visiting Cape Town, please contact us, as we would love to spoil you a bit and twist your arm to give us a class or two. As quilting has so many facets, we are always excited to learn the new things going on in the quilting world.
As quilters are famous for their big hearts, we are engaged in quilting bees on a weekly basis, sharing life (and sometimes even fabric). Our hearts extend into many outreach and charity projects, where we try to give comfort in difficult situations. Please read more about this on the website.

If you want to get involved in any of these, you are most welcome to join us.
Our quarterly gatherings are a highlight in the quilting calendar as we enjoy the temptations the vendors bring along, relish the company of quilting friends and always learn something new from a speaker, workshop or demonstration. The show and tell session, where the stories behind the quilts are shared, inspires us to tackle the next quilt that has so far only been an idea floating around in our mind.
Our slogan portrays our goal, which is to cover the Cape in quilts. We aim to promote quilting in a new way and hope to target younger people and people of the diverse cultural groups in the Western Cape Province to expose them to this healing, soothing hobby that brings people together and gives joy in so many ways.
In the time where life is hectic, quilting brings the opportunity to slow down and sew your stiches in a meditative way, giving birth to the creativity within you. Leaving something beautiful and useful behind, gives inner joy to us all.
Hope we can welcome you at one of our meetings or groups very soon!!
