Laetitia attended a class by Rosalie Dace on colour and design in about 2008, setting her on a journey of innovative quilting. As qualified mathematics and physics teacher, teaching has always been a passion. Laetitia was accredited as a SAQG teacher in February 2017 and is on a serious mission to introduce more people to this captivating and addictive lifestyle called quilting. Rather than teaching patterns, Laetitia teaches solid techniques and skills and encourages students to develop their artistic styles. She looks at nature for colour inspiration, but man-made designs and structures often inform her quilt style. Laetitia is a master quilter who has won numerous prizes for innovative quilting at SAQG Festivals. Her work has been part of the SAQG travelling exhibition on several occasions.
Both Laetitia and Corrianne love to share their passion for fabrics and design with fellow quilters. They enjoy teaching together as both have a slightly different outlook on colour and design, thereby enhancing the participant’s class experience.
