Students will learn a fun and easy technique for creating modern improv hexagons.  Machine sewing hexagons can be daunting - all those Y-seams - students will learn a no-fuss, no Y-seam method.  There will be no stress as it is, after all, an improv class - nothing must match!  Students will select colours and fabrics they love and transform these fabrics into a modern quilt, approximately 35 inches x 35 inches (90 cm x 90 cm).  Any questions or further information: diana@vandeyar.net.

Student Requirements:

• Basic Sewing Supplies
• Fabric: All solids; or a mix with prints; brights, lights and darks, whatever they enjoy working with
  o Option 1: Multi-colour/fabric quilt: 8 fabrics: ¼ yard/meter Width of Fabric each; or,
  o Option 2: Two- colour/fabric quilt: 2 fabrics: 1 yard/meter of each
• Thread in coordinating colour
• Cutting mat and rotary cutter with a new blade, 12” ruler
• Sewing Machine in good working order;
  o Quarter-inch stitch presser foot
• Extension cord, 15 amp plug or adaptor, surge protector plug
