Ready to dive into the world of bag making? Bag Basics is the perfectintroduction!

In this class, you’ll create your own Essential Bag while learning a variety of techniques and tips for future projects. Work withexciting materials like cork, foam, and quality cotton, and explore different interfacings and battings. You’ll line your bag, insert a zip, and add an inner pocket - with options to customize. Learn how to shape, size, and finish your bag with a cork base and a handmade strap using D-rings and swivel clips.

A fun and practical class for confident beginners and up!

The compulsory kit contains:

- precut fabric for Lining and Bag outer

- Cork

- Zip

- Foam  

- 2x Poly thread reels to sew Cork and Bag outer fabric

- Bag Hardware including D rings and swivel hooks

- Binding Clips and Flowerhead pins.

Student Requirements:

- Basic Sewing Supplies 

-  Grey or Beige cotton Thread (1 bobbin filled with same thread)

- 3x empty bobbins (to use with supplied polyester thread)

- 80/12 Machine sewing needles (new needle)

- Pins

- Quick Unpicker

- Cutting mat and rotary cutter with new blade

- 6x24 inch Ruler

- Frixion pen

- Sharp Scissors- Fabric and Snips

- Sewing machine in good working order; oiled, cleaned and ready to goo Extension Table

b) Quarter inch presser foot, Zipper presser foot and metal Zig Zag presser foot

c) Power cable and foot pedal

- Extension cord, 15 amp plug or adaptor, surge protector plug

- Cushion for chair
